Instructions
Part 1: Small Paper Angels
Step 1: Prepare the Materials
- Cut three identical circles out of your chosen paper.
- Ensure one circle will be used for the body, and the other two for the wings.
Step 2: Fold the Body
- Take the first circle and fold in one side of the circle.
- Repeat with the opposite side to create a triangular, dress-like shape.
Step 3: Create the Wings
- Take the second circle and fold it in half to create a semi-circle.
- Fold it in half again.
- Snip along the folded edge to create a slight curve.
- Once opened, this semi-circle will yield two sets of wings.
Step 4: Assemble the Angel
- Add a string or yarn for hanging:
- Attach the string in a loop to the top of the body using a glue gun or other adhesive.
- Glue the dress (folded circle) over the string to secure it.
- Attach the wings:
- Add a blob of glue to the back of the dress and position the wings.
- Optional: Press your finger gently under the angel’s dress to give it a slight bell-shaped flare for added dimension.
Step 5: Final Touches
- Use a decorative star, dried flowers, or a small detail glued onto the top of the angel for embellishment.
Part 2: Larger Doily Angels
Step 1: Prepare the Doilies
- Take one doily and fold it in a triangular shape, just like the dress for the small angel.
- Optional: Choose whether to have the decorative side or the plain side outward.
Step 2: Create the Wings
- Take the second doily and fold it in half, but leave a slight overlap instead of folding exactly to the edge (this adds extra detail).
- Cut a small slit (~1 cm) at the center of the fold.
- Fold down the top edges to create a wing-like shape.
Step 3: Assemble the Angel
- Add a string or yarn to the main dress as described in Step 4 of the small angel instructions.
- Attach the wings to the back of the folded dress using glue.
Step 4: Add Head & Decorations
- Thread a bead onto the hanging string to create a head.
- Decorate the angel with miniature stars, sprigs of holly, or other accents.
