Required Materials:
- Craft paper (Yellow and Blue)
- Sketch pen or marker
- Thread
- Cardboard (small piece for strips)
- Cutter
- Fevicol or any glue
- Scale
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Materials
- Take blue craft paper and cut two strips — each 1 cm wide.
- Paste these blue strips along the borders of a yellow craft paper using Fevicol.
Step 2: Decorate the Craft Paper
- Use a marker or sketch pen to draw shapes onto the yellow craft paper. For example, you can draw heart shapes all over the paper.
Step 3: Prepare the Cardboard Strips
- Cut two strips of cardboard — each 1.5 cm wide.
- Set these aside for later steps.
Step 4: Fold the Craft Paper
- Measure and mark 1.5 cm-wide stripes along the yellow craft paper using a scale.
- Fold the paper along these marks, accordion-style (like a zigzag fold).
- Create a second fan-folded craft paper in the same way.
Step 5: Join the Folded Strips
- Use Fevicol to glue the two folded craft papers together end-to-end.
- Find the center point of the combined paper, and tie it tightly with a thread to secure the folds.
- Once tied, fold the paper around to form the shape of a fan.
- Join both ends securely using Fevicol.
Step 6: Wrap the Cardboard
- Wrap the cardboard strips with blue craft paper (for a neat finish).
- Paste these cardboard strips onto both sides of the fan as handles.
Step 7: Final Touch
- Once done, turn the fan over and admire your creation!
- You’ll now have a beautiful DIY paper fan ready to use.
Tips:
- Get creative with the decoration — you can use stickers, different patterns, or even glitter for a fun look.
